Approved

Yes, it is a small miracle, but the insurance has approved the 3 injectible IUIs in two days. And I am in complete and total shock. We will not have to sit out this cycle. (Well, if the online pharmacy calls me today, and I am able to get my drugs by tomorrow.)

I hate all this precise timing - no room for error. It makes me nervous.

Also, have any of you been on G*nal-f? If so, what are the pleasant (said with irony) side effects of the drug?

GREAT NEWS!!!! I know sometimes it does feel like it's happening too fast and you feel like you need just a day to slow down. However, it's wonderful that you don't have sit the cycle out. I am so happy for you.

I have never done Injectables yet (Nice way to move right to IVF huh?) but I will waiting to hear how the Gon*al F goes.

GOOD LUCK sweetie :)

Hooray! So glad you were approved! But, I so hear you on the timing of all this--it can be so, so hard. Especially when the insurance companies and drug companies are not quick to respond. I hope you get your meds in time and everything. (for what it's worth, Freedom Pharmacy overnights everything and is AWESOME. If you can use them, I might check it out.)

As for gon*al-f, this is my 3rd cycle on it, and so far I haven't had any side effects. It's really been so much more of a breeze than I thought it would be. I hope it is for you, too!

Sweet, isn't it awesome when things come together like that.

I've only done cl*mid, f*llistim, *vridel, and pr*metrium, so I am looking forward to what you have to say about the GF

Great news on the insurance, yay!

I've used Gonal-f for 3 IVF cycles, and on my last one (the cancelled one) I was on the highest dose my RE will prescribe. I haven't noticed any side effects. I think you'll be fine. Probably the only serious potential side effect is an increased risk of multiples -- but I assume you already knew that. ;-)

I'm so glad that insurance approved the injectibles so quickly (and here's your mojito in celebration for this and it comfort for AF). I haven't done Gonal-F--I'm a Follistim girl too (I wonder how they decide which one to go with). But icing the skin before hand with an ice cube helps a lot. And putting some heat on the area afterwards takes away any sting from Follistim (and I assume they have to be similar).

Congrats - that is great news!

I've used Gonal-F for 3 of my IUI cycles. My side effects were basically a sore-to-the-touch belly from the injections, hot flashes, and trouble sleeping (probably because of the hot flashes). Oh, and the medicine sometimes stings going in. Really not too bad when you think about the benefits! Oh, and I find it easier (and less painful) to jab the needle in quick rather than slowly pressing it into the skin, but it varies for everyone. And inject the medicine slowly because it stings more when you go fast. After you do your injection, hold a bunched up gauze pad or cotton ball over the injection site for several minutes to minimize bruising. And make sure you alternate sites.
Hope that helps! ;)

Good luck!

That's great news! I am on gona.l and I don't have any side effects other than twinges in my ovaries. I wish you all the best with your upcoming IUIs.

Oh Dianne-I'm so excited that the insurance approved everything! Every once in a while they suprise you, don't they?

And although I don't have any injection advice for you...and I, too, being a fainting needle phobe...Well, You can at least hold my hand and squeeze as much as you need, K?
